Pastors and Teachers by Derek Prime (Paperback, 2021 edition)
This is a handbook for pastors at the beginning of their ministry and others who may benefit from the stimulus of comparing their own way of doing things with someone else's. Behind the book are five basic conventions: pastors and teachers are Christ's special gift to his Church; the pastor and teacher is an elder among others in the local church; the work of such elders needs to be encouraged and developed; there must be a leader among leaders, whatever the pattern of local church leadership structure; both pastor and church fellowship of which he is a part need to be quite clear as to their function and place in the body of Christ. Rev Prime is a regular speaker at Keswick, leads a large congregation in Scotland and has written more than twelve books.
Here at Perkology we still manually inspect and grade each and every book that comes into our warehouse to ensure that you know exactly what to expect when you receive your second hand book.
The criteria that we use to grade used books are as follows:
Like New: an apparently unread copy in perfect condition. Dust cover is intact with no nicks or tears. Spine has no signs of creasing. Pages are clean and not marred by notes or folds of any kind. Books may contain a remainder mark on an outside edge, but this should be noted in the listing comments. Any accompanying CDs or DVDs must be present.Very Good: a copy that has been read, but is in excellent condition. Pages are intact and not marred by notes or highlighting. The spine remains undamaged. Any accompanying CDs or DVDs must be present.
Good: a copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact and the cover is intact (including the dust cover, if applicable). The spine may show signs of wear. Pages can include limited notes and highlighting, and the copy can include "From the library of" labels. Books may have any accompanying access codes for additional or replacement content missing or redeemed.
Acceptable: a readable copy. All pages and the cover are intact (the dust cover may be missing). Pages can include considerable notes – in pen or highlighter – but notes cannot obscure the text. Books may have any accompanying access codes for additional or replacement content missing or redeemed.
